On Thursday evening (18 June), we will hold our conference dinner. The pre-dinner reception will begin at 19:00. It will take place in the world-famous Roman Baths, to which we will have exclusive access for our reception. We will have the opportunity to network in the well-preserved Roman thermae that were built between 60 and 70 AD and used until the end of Roman rule in Britain in the 5th century AD.
At 20:00, we will then go to the adjacent Pump Room for our exclusive three-course conference dinner. The Pump Room was built in Georgian times and visited by many famous individuals, including Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. It is located right next to the Roman Baths within the same compound. You can even sample the famous spa water from a fountain.
The cost for the participation in the reception and conference dinner is TBD. It includes
exclusive access to the Roman Baths during the reception (please note: the regular ticket for standard admission to the Roman Baths would be £25.50),
a three-course dinner, and
two drink tokens that can be used during the reception or the dinner. Further drinks can be purchased from the bar.
You can book your ticket for the conference dinner directly with your Registration. All bookings for the conference dinner and reception need to be made by 15 May 2026. Due to the limited availability of seats, we offer participation on a first come, first served basis. It is also possible to book the reception and dinner separately from the conference registration. You can also add up to four guests.

On Wednesday afternoon (17 June), we are organising an exclusive social trip to the world-famous prehistoric megalithic site of Stonehenge. Buses will take us from the conference hotel directly to Stonehenge, where tourist guides will show us in small groups around the World Heritage Site. This British cultural icon is one of the most famous landmarks in the United Kingdom. There will be time to explore the main stone circles, the exhibition that provides context about the known and unknown history of Stonehenge, the Neolithic and Bronze Age barrows at the site, and the wider archeological landscape. The buses will bring us back to the hotel. On the way back to Bath, there will be an opportunity, for those who wish to, to get off the bus outside the City and do a guided Bath's Skyline Walk, which offers an amazing view over the City of Bath.
The buses will leave from the conference hotel at 14:00 and return by 19:00. The cost for participation in this social trip is £35 per person, including the bus transfer to and from Stonehenge, our exclusive guides, and access to the site. You can book your ticket for this trip directly with your Registration. All bookings need to be made by 15 May 2026. Due to the limited availability of tickets, we offer participation on a first come, first served basis. It is also possible to book the social trip separately from the conference registration. You can also add up to four guests.
On Sunday evening (14 June), we invite all conference participants to a welcome reception at the Lansdown Bar on the ground floor of the conference hotel. It will begin at 18:30 and finish at 21:30. The registration desk is located right next to the Lansdown Bar and will be staffed during this time.
The welcome reception will offer two drinks and some canapés for all participants. The participation in the welcome reception is included in the registration fee.
On Monday evening (15 June), we invite all ECRs (students and post-docs) that attend the conference to gather for an unhosted social. Please come to the lobby of the conference hotel at 19:00. The hotel is very centrally located in the City of Bath and thus a great starting point to explore the restaurants, pubs, and bars in the City.
